The short answer
Genesis Lawn Care mows every week from March through November and every other week from December through February, at one flat monthly rate that includes a monthly sprinkler wet check. Prices go by the lawn we mow, from $234 a month for a lawn up to 3,000 square feet ($149 for mowing plus $85 for the wet check), and weeding is done by hand. There is no long-term contract, and you can cancel anytime with 30 days’ notice.

One company sees both your lawn and your sprinkler system every month. A properly installed system keeps its heads at grade, where a mower never touches them. Our monthly wet check finds heads that have settled, tilted or risen, and fixes them before they cause trouble.

What’s included in the base plan
- Mowing every week from March through November, and every other week from December through February.
- The same flat monthly rate all year. Grass grows fast in summer and slowly in winter, so we spread the year’s visits into one equal monthly payment and your bill never jumps in the busy months.
- Edging, trimming and blowing every hard surface: driveway, walks, patio and lanai.
- A monthly irrigation wet check. The same company that mows your lawn runs your sprinkler system once a month and finds problems before your grass shows them. Wet-check repairs are billed at our current list price less 10% (details in the questions below).

We price the lawn we mow, not your whole lot. Your price comes from your property records, and we confirm it on the first visit.
Most lawn companies only mow. Ours includes a monthly check of every sprinkler zone.
Your exact price comes from your property, not a guess. $149 a month minimum. Barrier-island properties add 15% to the mowing price (the wet check is never marked up): Anna Maria, Holmes Beach, Bradenton Beach, Longboat Key, Lido Key, St. Armands, Bird Key, Siesta Key and Casey Key.

Add-ons
Bed care: hand weeding, bed edging and light shrub detail, once or twice a month. Quoted for your property, because no two yards’ beds are the same.

Weeding is done by hand. We use no synthetic pesticides or herbicides on your property, and our turf and soil practices follow UF/IFAS guidance.

How high we cut
We follow UF/IFAS guidance on mowing height for your type of grass and never take off more than a third of the leaf blade in one cut. For example, UF/IFAS recommends mowing most St. Augustinegrass at 3.5 to 4 inches (dwarf varieties lower) and bahiagrass at 3 to 4 inches. How much does lawn mowing cost in Lakewood Ranch and Bradenton?
Prices go by the area of lawn we mow, and the same monthly rates apply in Lakewood Ranch, Bradenton and the rest of our service area. Each plan includes mowing and the monthly sprinkler wet check: $234 a month for up to 3,000 sq ft of lawn ($149 mowing plus $85 wet check), $344 for 3,001 to 7,000 sq ft, $494 for 7,001 to 15,000 sq ft and $840 for 15,001 to 25,000 sq ft. Lawns over 25,000 sq ft are quoted after we measure.
Why does Genesis use no chemical treatments on lawns?
Genesis does not apply fertilizer, herbicides or pesticides. We are an irrigation company: we keep your lawn watered correctly, weed by hand, and improve soil with a soil test and natural amendments such as compost, following UF/IFAS guidance. See Soil Care.
What happens on rain days?
If rain keeps the crew off your lawn, your visit moves to the next working day and we email you the new date. Your monthly rate stays the same.
What about holidays?
Our crew is off on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. We never skip a visit. On a holiday week, your visit moves to another day that same week, and we’ll text you the day.
How often do you mow in each season?
Every week from March through November, when grass grows fast, and every other week from December through February, when it grows more slowly. Your monthly rate is the same all year.
Can you follow my HOA’s rules?
Yes. Tell us your HOA’s rules (mowing days, quiet hours, areas to leave alone) and we add them to your property’s notes, which every crew sees when it arrives.
What does the monthly sprinkler wet check include?
Once a month the crew runs your sprinkler system zone by zone and watches it work, looking for heads that have settled, tilted or risen, leaks, clogged nozzles and dry spots. Repairs found on the wet check are billed at our current list price less 10%. The technician may fix up to $250 on the spot without calling you. If a repair needs a second visit and your approval, it is billed at full list price.
Will mowing break my sprinkler heads?
Not on a system that is installed and maintained properly. Heads set at grade sit below the mower deck, and the monthly wet check keeps them that way.
How does billing work?
Service is billed on the same day each month for the month ahead, by ACH bank draft (card also accepted), so each month is paid before the work is done. Your monthly rate stays the same all year, including the every-other-week winter months.
How do I cancel?
No long-term contract. Cancel anytime with 30 days’ notice, and no cancellation fee. Call (833) 543‑6374 or email tave@genesiswm.net. Service continues through your 30-day notice period, which is already paid.
